Karen Nolan

Karen is a lecturer of Computing in the School Enterprise Computing and Digital Transformation in the Faculty of Computing, Digital and Data in TU Dublin. Karen is an experienced Software Developer, having previously worked in Industry for 15 years. Karen now uses this knowledge to teach a wide range of modules, including Software Development, DevOps, Enterprise Application Deployment with Containers and Kubernetes, Software Quality Assurance Testing, Software Design, and Agile Project Management Methods.

In addition to her current role in TU Dublin, Karen is involved in the CS education community. Karen delivers computing camps in primary and secondary schools around Ireland, promoting computer science to all students as part of the CSinc (CS Inclusive research group), which is a TU Dublin national research project.

Karen is currently working on her PhD in Computer Science Education, titled: ”K-12 Computer Science in Ireland – Factors that affect and Influence Student’s in Formal and Informal Curricula”.
