Brett leads the UCD Computing Education Research Group. He is the Vice Chair of the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (ACM SIGCSE), Deputy Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Computing Education, on the Steering Committee of the ACM/IEEE/AAAI Computer Science Curricula 2023, author of Computer Science for Leaving Certificate, and an Irish Teaching and Learning Research Fellow, Ireland’s most prestigious national individual teaching and learning award in higher education.
